Hi,
I'm trying to do a first-time install with the AIW (using wizard si_S8300-4.0-8) for CM4.00.0.730.5 on an s8300c. I can completely get through the wizard process if I select "Don't do automatic basic translations". However, I want basic translations to be done for me.
The dadmin user belongs to the groups susers, prof2 and prof18, and "enable dadmin" is set to "y" as seen from 'display system cust'. I can ssh in as dadmin, and run 'sat', and manually set the 'change feature-access-codes' with all of the values provided in the custom-template_US-4_0-1.xls file. The settings will actually save with no errors.
However, in the "Telephony" section of the wizard, under the "custom template" subsection, I cannot get past this screen after trying different combinations (using custom or default). I get the error:
"Unable to change FAC.
Supporting Data: Required data not specified "

The tail end of "/var/tmp/aiw/aiw.log" contains:
10:24:48 09/02/07 MDT [INFO] FACConfigImpl FAC:userControlRestrictAct = 091
10:24:48 09/02/07 MDT [INFO] FACConfigImpl FAC:userControlRestrictDeact = 092
10:24:48 09/02/07 MDT [INFO] FACConfigImpl FAC:whisperPageAct =
10:24:48 09/02/07 MDT [ERRO] FeatureAccessCodesImpl 2 0005ff09 e6d8 Required data not specified
10:24:48 09/02/07 MDT [ERRO] FACConfigImpl Failed to change FAC.

I've tried this as the customer-super-user and as dadmin with the same results.
I've patched the 4.0 software to the latest. I'm using the latest wizard. I'm not sure what else to try, other than wipe the image and start all over. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I think its a feature turned off in RFA. The wizard might be using feature access code to make the changes and the feature might be disabled. Just a thought.

I was really hoping that you were right, as it sounded like a great hunch. I obtained a new license from RFA with every single feature turned on. Although, due to conflicts, I had to keep some of them off (FEAT_MAINCAS, FEAT_CAS, FEAT_CHGCOR, FEAT_LSP, FEAT_AGTALLOC, FEAT_CVA2).

I started over from the beginning, and installed the new license. As soon as I hit "continue" in the "custom template" part of telephony, I got the dreaded "unable to change FAC" again :(

The other thing to note is that I was able to manually enter every FAC entry in the custom template in SAT, and successfully save it... so it's not like it would be a permission problem.

Any other ideas are welcome!

Thanks ;)

i guess it was worth a go. Maybe you should enter that bit manually.

hey mrjedi,

I have to apologize, as you were right all along. It was the license file. Turning on EVERYTHING actually had an adverse effect. It I turned on everything except FEAT_ESS and FEAT_ESS_SRV which I was not using, I am able to get past this error!

Thanks again.
