Hi all.

I have an ip office with R11.1 on the system, and I have a working ucm in the system.

To be a little bit more specific, the UCM exists, shows as running in system status.
I can ping it, connect to it with manager, or with a webpage.

Its there.

When I go into System -> Voicemail -> it is at Voicemail on UCM but there is no ip address showing there.
I've rebuilt my ucm, and still it happens.

Any ideas?

Regards

Does it work ok.
You can access it using the ipaddress you provided.

Don’t know if it’s changed on 11.1
But you normally set the ipaddress for the UCM in the UCM itself.
You don’t set it in manager

The Manager normally uses an internal address to communicate with it which is set by it.

It use to show it but I haven’t done any 11.1 systems.

Maybe it greys it out so as you don’t touch it.....lol

just a silly question but did you Egnyte it? Once that is done you may need to reboot and it should show up

Hi all.

Ok, to answer your questions as best I can:

1) In manager, I show the Voicemail as Voicemail Pro on UCM.
2) The address showing in Manager is correct. I did not enter it. It showed up all on its lonesome, and is greyed out so I can't change it.
3) It has been ignited and the ip address I want is added along with a gateway. the Avaya Access new item is there and enabled.
4) I can connect to it with the VMPro Client, and web. In system status it shows the correct IP address and "running".
5) I can ping it.
6) I see all of the services running.
7) The password is there. I see it in the <ip address:7071) -> Settings -> System as well as in the web interface.
8) I have tried to reset the password in Manager -> Security Settings, and got an error saying it wanted 32 characters???

The only thing is when I try to access the voicemail with other *17 or the mail button on the phone, it shows voicemal not running.

Regards

Are you able to Web to the https:// Ip address of module:7070

When you go into System status what does it show for the UCMode status?

Also you in Manager under Voicemail tab you did change the type to be Voicemail Pro on UC module you said correct?

You should be able to get to the :7070.

This is done after the module is ignited.

. Initial Management Services Configuration
a. Using a web browser, enter https:// followed by the IP address given to the module during ignition and
:7070.
b. The login menu appears. Enter Administrator and the password set for that user account during ignition.
c. Check that the details on the initial configuration menu are correct.
d. Click Apply.

9. Configure the Server Applications
Check and configure the server applications. See Voicemail Pro Configuration and one-X Portal for IP Office
Configuration .
· ! Important: Check in the IP Office switch configuration that the Voicemail Type is set to Voicemail Pro
on UC Module with the Voicemail IP Address set to match the module's IP address.

Run monitor and turn on Ping Pong. It usually will show what kind of error you have between IPO and and VM Pro. But it sounds like a password mismatch. Go in and change both the passwords the to the Administrator password. I found the setting in the App Server of 'Enable referred authentication' seems to force you to use the Administrator password for VM Pro.

When I go into security settings, and want to change the voicemail password to what I know it is, it won't let me change it... it was a 31 character password????
And when I go to system status -> Voicemail -> it says NONE!

Monitor with all of the voicemail setting that I can find are turned on, with a very visible color and I'm not seeing anything!

Regards

budbyrd: Where is ping pong in monitor.
I've looked in all of the menus and filters but can't seem to see it.
Mind, my eyesight isn't what it used to be.

Click the tab clear all button at the bottom. Go to the services tab and check the Websocket Ping Pong box. It will make it easier to see.
For the VM password in security setting are you pressing the change button??? If you are just counting the dots and trying to change it that box that won't work.

Hi Budbyrd.

I am going into security settings.
Going to where the 3 passwords are.
Clicking the change button.
Enter my passwords (they are common ones I use, not defaults)
Enter my passwords.
The top textfield has a red x beside it.
Hovering over the red x it says needs a password of 31 chararacters.

There is a post on the requirement for 31 digits in the voicemail password for 11.1 FP1 on Avaya's support page.

Problem Clarification
Unable to change the voicemail password in security settings, unless it has 31 characters.
Getting an error stating password must be 31 characters.

Cause
Although Help File shows length can be between 0 and 31 characters, this is a New requirement in 11.1 FP1 or higher

Solution

Please use 31 characters for Voicemail Password

I haven't work with the FP1. My bad. Good to know though. Sucks you need to use a complete sentence as a password. [censored]

Hi All.

Looks like I got my unit working as follows:

1) Rolled back to 11.0.4 sp5
2) Ignited the unit
3) Verified all entries, as I make typing mistakes :-D
4) Went to <ip address of UCM after ignition>:7070 and verified that a password was in there, and that all values were what I expected.
5) Went to Manager -> Security Settings-> and entered my password, even though there was something there.

And it came to life, verifying that all of my users were in the voicemail via the VMPro Client.

Now I'm bringing the unit up by using the upgrade option in the <ip address of the UCM>:7070. It went fine, but I did notice the following
On the monitor when the upgrade was done, I got a message saying "fixing recursive fault - but reboot is needed." I don't know if this is common, but it did happen to me. So I shutdown with the buttons on the front of the ucm for the reboot, and it worked fine.
