Hi everybody

Situation
1 Login in as Admin in a WinXP SP2 OS; twain driver for Epson scanner can be called from any Drawing programs such as "Corel Draw" to do scanning.
2 However when login as Power User, twain driver cannot be used.

Question
1 How to get into the properties of this driver to set security to allow Power Users to run it?

Cheers!

Does the Epson Scanner have its own folder in Program Files where you can give Power Users Full Control Permissions?

Are there any entries for Twain files in C:/Windows where you can adjust Permissions?

Can you make use of this Application?

Thanks linney

Your questions:
1 There is no Scanner folder in Program Files Folder
2 There is a twain_32 folder in C:\windows, in it the subfolder which contains the important files are listed below:

Directory c:\windows\twain_32\epfb5
16-07-03 02:45 PM 3,584 wiatwain.ds
01-11-07 03:07 PM <DIR> ES0015 (users folders with nothing much)
01-06-01 12:00 AM 110,592 pmddtw5.dll
02-08-01 12:00 AM 471,040 estw5.ds
02-08-01 12:00 AM 1,376,256 estw5ui.dll
05-06-01 05:50 AM 166,025 Estw5.hlp
05-06-01 05:50 AM 1,795 Estw5.cnt
26-03-01 12:00 AM 2,088 Es_tpu.ptn

I will look into runauser.aspx & come back here when done. Thanks again

It could possibly be the permmsions to the actual programmes themselves. We have an app that when launched, oddly enough needs to write to the folder to do some "viewing" of stats. Bit wierd, but may be worth looking at the drawing apps.

Only the truly stupid believe they know everything.
