I am having a problem with two TNs programmed identically. They both fna to voicemail but callers are getting the auto attendant instead. I can't figure out what's wrong so I thought i'd turn on MARP (I realize I have to check all TNs for correct MARPs, etc.) can I simply activate MARP in the middle of a workday? Or will i potentially cause a problem? thanks.

only problem I ever heard of with MARP was allowing MARP & CFWS in LD17 for earlier RLS s/w than 21. I've allowed MARP on many working sets & never had a problem

i don't mean programming on individual sets, actually. I mean setting MARP to YES in the CFN. And we're on 25.3. what's CFWS? can't find it in the NTP...

i've done it without any problems

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

CFWS = call forward save on sysload, LD17 TYPE = PARM

as PerryPJ says, shouldn't cause any issues

so what does this mean? is this something I also need to reply YES to when changing the config?

Just change it.

remember, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Rainy days suck.

if CFWS = NO, & the system reboots, all extn call forwards are lost, up to you, but it's real easy to say yes

marp will cause problems when you turn it on a working switch. ie.. my sec has 10 exten on her phone, if her tn is lower then mine, and other est that she answers for, she gets the marp for my set. i go to lucnh, forward my did to my cell but it did work befare and don't work now. she goe to lunch and forwards her phone down the hall and i can't be called.. i just turned marp on in a 8 year old switch that has 8000 users, i caused 3 maybe 400 troubles, but i can not work in a switch without marp. before you say yes to marp, check your stations for numbers that show marp on keys other then 0.. that will help. if most users have a second line, that should be marped on the proper control set also.. if this is unclear, i'll watch for you to repost, after you turn it on, turning it off make even more problems so it's not as easy as trying it then backing up.

hello JohnPoole, I did mention already that I knew I had to MARP correct sets, but thanks for pointing it out anyway. I ended up not doing it because I actually don't think that's the problem. If two TNs are built identically, and they both go to VM on a HUNT and FNA, then I don't think turning on MARP is going to correct the problem, which is that calls transferred to this one user, whether manually or via the BFS key, are hitting auto attendant instead of his mailbox (which does exist). All users in that office have two phones and no-one else but him has this problem. Don't quite know yet what I'm going to do...

find where in the mail, that one exten is built. check the voice service dn table. what do you want it to do when fna hta to mail if they don't have a box. mm or cp? and sorry i very seldom read all of post, missed your point on this one.

don't have Meridian Mail, unfortunately. They have an Octel. And the mailbox exists.

i've put a few of those in but don't know the software to help you find the problem, but it is in the mail from your post. somewhere in the octel that ext is flagged as access dn of the menu service. maybe a octel forum would have a better answer. if you can't find it repost and i can call a octel tech i used to work with.
