Is it possible to toggle hunt group night service from an AA in embedded voicemail? I have an option on an AA to dial a shortcode that toggles night service for a hunt group, but it isn't working. Dialing the option during the AA recording and it just disregards the dtmf. DTMF works on all other options.

Running v9.1

Thanks

I was trying to set this up the other day and ran into the same issue (9.1 on embedded vm).

We've always used a remote machine with TAPI setup to dial the night service shortcode using Dialer.exe but now I'm configuring time profiles so we don't have to worry about it anymore.

Another workaround is to configure a fallback extension or phantom extension in huntgroup overflow pointed to our answering service and setting agents to "Busy" (DND) or "Logged off" when they miss a call. This is the "Status on No-Answer" setting located in User > [username] > Telephony > Supervisor Settings. If a call comes in and someone is logged-in, it'll ring the no-answer time (default 15s) and once the call is considered "not answered" it will change that user to DND (or log them out if you wish) then forward the call to the fallback/overflow.

If someone knows how to get your request done I'd love to hear it.

I've done this before and it worked fine doing a transfer to a shortcode...but that was before 9.1. May also try forwarding a phantom user to a shortcode and transfer to that user.

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

Thanks for the response indefinitedrums! Right now they are using time profiles, but I am trying to give them the ability to remotely close the office in case of a random event like a snow day. So I need to make it so the caller hits the night attendant.

AACon: Thanks for the suggestion. I did try a phantom user forwarded to a shortcode and it still did not work.

It's almost like the system is just not allowing hunt group night service control specifically through the auto attendant because the other shortcodes I have as AA options are working fine.

They often cripple workarounds to force a licence purchase, VM Pro in this case :)

That makes sense now amriddle01. Didn't think of that!

When SCN was free but you needed the advanced SCN licence for distributed groups, they blocked you forwarding/twinning group calls from a user/phantom to an SCN extn, again so you had to buy the advanced SCN licence :)

>force a licence purchase, VM Pro in this case
So this does work with VMPro? We're considering the upgrade to preferred edition and this would seal the deal
