Hello,

So I'm sure I'm just missing a basic setting in the configuration forms...but we need to turn off the ability for anyone to record (due to legal reasons). Can anyone point me in the direction to turn it completely off.

The system is an IP Office 412 with 2.1(31).

Thank you!

I dont think you can enable/disable the recording feature, but you can delete the shortcodes and buttons associated with call recording. This way, no one will have the ability to record calls, but the feature will be there if needed in the future.

Ok...i can figure out the short codes...where do i go to do the buttons?

Do you have buttons programmed on the phones for it? That's the only thing I can think you are saying. In that case it would be under each user under the "button programming" tab and/or under the hunt group on the "VoiceRecording" tab set Record Incoming to None

Disbaled SC's and Buttons doesnt help if the users have PM Pro.

I don't know what happened to my post i made yesterday... but basically:

there isn't a shortcode in the system for recording (we haven't added it). what is happening is that an employee (using phone manage pro) hits the record button. I know we can turn on the advice sound clip, but for legal reasons, we just want it disabled.

No direct option without not having.

Options might be:

a) Set the maximum record time to a ridiculously low value (it less you set 5 seconds, hopefully it honours the value).

b) Use the User | Voice Recording | Manual Recording Mailbox setting in Manager to redirect the users recordings to somewhere they won't find them.

so can we just shut it off for everyone then? completely disable it?

I think you have to go with sizbuts options, don't know any way to disable it completely.

You could try to point the recording to it's own directory in your PC and then in the security settings on that folder remove VMPros right to write to that folder.

Could cause some problems though so you better test it through.
