trying to add rls3 2050 softphone

I am trying to add a new 2050pc set. The license manager has been installed a while ago, not by me, I am trying to confirm it has licenses on it. I do the LMSTAT command but it doesn't show me what I think it should. Also if anyone has any tips on installing the softphone that will be great. I am assuming I need to put the IP address of the license server somewhere on the softphone profile? Do I still put the node ip in the server settings or is that the license manager IP? LMSTAT is copied below, thank you guy's.

There is a .LIC file on license server. Open that file, there will be "permanent xx".

xx is the license number.

After you install the phone do the following:

Click Start > Programs > Avaya > IP Softphone 2050 > IP Softphone 2050 Settings
- In the left pane select "Server"
- Uncheck the box "Automatic (DHCP)"
- In the "IP:" box type sig server IP
- In the left column click on "License Servers"
- If nothing appears in the Server Address Field, do the following
- In the New server dialog box type in name or Ip of Licenses server
- Click the "Add" button
- Then click apply

- Click "OK"
- Click Start > Programs > Avaya > IP Softphone 2050 > IP Softphone 2050
- You will be prompted for "Node" and TN"
- Enter your Node
- Enter TN
- Click the "OK" button on the softphone
- Your phone should now be working

Thanks for the reply, and the tip on setting up the IP set. I am still having a problem with the license server. I have the keycodes for the 2050 licenses which are supposed to go on the license server. I got them as a .kcd file, does that sound right? I changed the .kcd file to a .LIC file and went thru the steps to install it on my license server. When I put the new "counted.lic" file in my directory, I then get an error when I do a LMSTAT-A, it now says the LMGRD is down and the server is not connected. I am thinking I have the wrong keycode file. Any ideas?

You generate the .lic file on the KRS website using a Order Number / PO Number.

You have to supply the FQDN (server name + domain) into the KRS website.

The .lic file will then be tied to the server name.

I was given a PO, alternate #, and nortel order # (COEO). I put this in on Avaya's krs but it tells me no records were found. I do have the FQDN of the license server, it is registered on the KRS,it still say's no records found. I guess I have to go back to Avaya. Thanks.
