I originally posted this in the Meridian forum, but I later found that I bought a Norstar that says Meridian on it. The model number is NT5B01.
I'm wondering if it's possible to have a priority trunk or perhaps even two. The KSU supports 6 phone lines. Line 1 is an unlimited calling plan, while the other lines are on pay-per-minute VoIP plans.
Here's an example of what I want to do:
Let's say no lines are in use right now.
Now, Joe picks up his phone, and dials 9 to reach an outside line. The Norstar searches and finds line 1 is available, and routes him to a line 1 dialtone.
Joe is 10 minutes into his phone call, and Mary picks up the phone to make an outgoing call. She dials 9 to reach an outside line. The Norstar searches for available lines and finds line 1 is unavailable, so it checks line 2 and finds an available line.
Now, Joe who is on Line 1 hangs up his phone and releases the line allocated for his call. Mary is still on her phone call.
Now Jane picks up her phone to make an outbound call. She dials 9, and the Norstar finds line 1 available, and routes her to a line 1 dialtone.
In other words: I want it so when 9 is dialed, the first thing it does before searching for other lines is check if line 1 is available.
Thank you!
P.S. Model number is NT5B01, 6 incoming phone lines and 16 extension phones. It says Meridian and Northern Telecom, but it appears to be a Norstar phone.
