Is there some way to place a direct trunk access button on a 2616? Here's what I'm trying to do:
My customer has long since disconnected a bunch of analog trunks, but the trunks were never removed from the PBX, and periodically they hit "dead air" trunks and have to retry their call. I've already tried grabbing the ACOD and doing a DNB listup to see if I can determine the phone numbers associated with each trunk, but to no avail -- whomever set up this PBX didn't plan for the future very well.
So now I'm trying to see if I can put a key on a phone to directly access an individual trunk to see if I get dial tone from it. It will be slow, but at this point I and my regular Nortel tech support people are out of options. Can anyone tell me how this can be done? Can I use the SCR key somehow? Your help would be much appreciated!
