My client wants to be able after hours for all calls to be transferred to their sister group.

My client has an IP 500 and their sister office uses Cisco IP Telephony, they have a VPN connection between the sites and were wondering if it is possible for the calls when transferred to be transferred over the VPN connection so as to not add extra costs to the call.

Provided the other system talks H323 or SIP it should not be too dificult to get them communicating for basic telephony.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

How would you go about it?

Create an IP route to the other system and send the calls down that route?

No, there's more to it than that. "Not difficult" in that engineers trained in each system will have no issue setting it up their end :)
