I'd like to put a key on the receptionist phone to send calls directly to several other user's voice mail box.

Can someone give me a hint on how to do this?

Here you go:
Say your extention you want to transfer to is ext 201 and the name of the user is John.

Build a short code as follows:
Short code: *201
Telephone number: "John"
Line group ID: 0
Feature: VoicemailCollect

then build a key on the set as user and *201 or just have them press transfer and then *201

The Telephone number needs to be "#John" to leave a msg

...and I believe the key needs to be a dial key, not user.

or the key could be "VoiceMailCollect with the number field set "#John"

There are a few ways to fine tune this one , good luck

Another way to have this that may help if she needs to put alot of people into voicemail would be to just have a short code of # that goes to VM menu with extensions as availible touch tones that are pointed to a leave mail action. This way all users can have it, but is is not one button.

I have set-up Direct Voicemail using the method kflounders has mentioned above many times and it works great. That way you don't need to set-up a short code for every extension. As long as you are utilizing vm pro, you can create a single short code and then put that short code on a button as a dial action.

My version is:

Shortcode: 7XXX
Telephone number: #N
Line Group ID: 0
Feature: VoicemailCollect

To send a caller to directly to voicemail, user dials Trnsfr + 7 + 3-digit extension then hangs up. Works like a champ.

I agree Mike. I do the same thing and it works like a champ, but I use # instead of "7." I think that's what kflounders was trying to communicate is the same method, but using the pound sign.

Dispensing quality rants and mishaps since 1999:

I think kflounders was suggesting a "self-serve" option for customers.

I am with Mike and Johnny, definately the easiest way I've seen to do this.

I am pleasantly supprised that mikes solution works, The VM usaaly expects a Name not a number in the short code field.

Im sure it did not work on earlyer software but could be wrong. I hope this is somthing that Avaya have decided to add, raher than a bug that the may correct at a later date.

IPGuru,

I first set this up on rel 1.4 - found that I needed 7XXX instead of 7N to make it work. I just wish I could use it in conjunction with an existing "User" button (i.e. press Trnsf + 7 + press existing user button). If anyone figures this one out, let me know!

Mike

Hello guys,

I also have a question...

Is it posible that someone, let's say the receptionist, can hear out a voicemail from an other user?

Example:

User 200 can hear out the voicemail from user 210 from his own phone.

Is this posible?

I forgot to mention that I wan't it to be accaceble whit a shotcut. Whit ONE push of a button the voicemail of the other user must be accaceble!

Please expand on what "hear out a voicemail" means. I don't follow...
Mike

What I mean is the following:

User 200 can collect the Vocicemail from user 210.

If there is a voicemail for user 210 he can collect it from his own phone. What I want is that user 200 can collect the voicemail from user 210 from his own phone, whitout having to giva any extentionnumber nor a password, just one click of a button! (Or a shotcode)

------

I have figured out the above whit use of Trusted Numbers.

Now I got another problem, how is it posible to do the above but now whit a Huntgroup-voicemail, again whit just one click of a button!

The sweet method that everyone likes is not supported by Avaya. I have used

#7xxx
#N
Voicemail collect for a couple of years however Avaya insists that the method is not supported.
