hi all,

Is there any way to modify the tone plan (e.g. ringback tone) from the provided country variant.
I'm using the default country "NA", but my customer would the the ringback tone to be "Australia".
I've tried the change the country to Australia, but another problem raised, the TDM codec change to A-law, and that cause a noisy on the T1 trunk.

Plaform info:
3300 MXe: version 9.0.1.17

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

When you first install the system and go to licence and options selection you should have changed the country

Select the country variant of the system. Changing the country does not change the options password. This parameter is used to set the default language, dialing plan, tone plan, and loss and level plan.

A change to this option requires a Save, Reboot, and Restore.

You should use country template where the system is physicaly installed and connected to PSTN. People asking for things they don't really need. I hope your customer is not asking DMV to allow him to drive on the left side of the road how he use to do in Australia. Don't fix what is not broken.

No, you can't do this. The tone plan is configured based on the country variant and is consistent throughout the system. The dialtone parameters that are presented to a phone are the same that they system uses when sending it to a trunk for example. So unless your North American CO can detect Austrailian dialtone, you're in for a few heafty phone bills.
