I changed system parameters features to have "tone" on hold and also heard dusring transfers.

The cor's have Hear System Music on Hold? y

I don't hear a tone when I am transferred or on hold. Did I miss an area?

Is data privacy turned on for the cos of the phone you are testing with? If so, turn it off.
 
Yes it was, I turned it off but do not get the tone.
I place an external call to a station, answer the call, put the call on hold, and the external call has silence from the switch.

If I call from station to station, put the call on hold. The originator does not hear a tone.

Is there another area to address?

AT&T/Inter-Tel/Octel/Lucent/Avaya and so on and so on...does it get any better?? ;-)
 
On the second page of the station form is data restriction is on? If it is turn it off. Also, are these digital sets?

I'll recheck the station form next week. Just packed the office up for a move this weekend.

We have digital and analog sets. Never hear tone on hold.

Is there another area to address?

 
Have you got anything assigned under "system-parameters country-options" in the form of tonepattern for hold ?
Unfortuneately most of the time you can only do display,not change, so Avaya has to change it when needed.

I have 23 pages of settings there,I'm outside the US Though.
I see configurations for every tone type there is; example:

Have you ever used the canned "tone on hold"? I wonder if it actually works?

 
You may also need to do a "Change Music-Sources" and assign Tone to one of the vacant ones and assign it on the Tenant Pages
 
I have a TN2182C
I'm unable to use the command "change music". Is it on a form somewhere? I did'nt see it in system-parameters features.

I'm not using it. Is it under partition-route-table and partitioned-group ?
