Hello. I intend to purchase 3 refurbished TN767e circuit packs, and I need them with an RJ-45 connector on the back side of the cabinet, for T1 crossover cables, for a PRI connection to an asterisk voip gateway.

Question is, when I shop for them, they all just say "circuit pack". Does that include the rear connector? Will it be rj-45? Or is that rear connector a separate item, and if so, what is it called?

thanks in advance,

Peter

Well, its neither. It plugs into a Definity, or a G650, and the cabinet termiantes in a 25 pair amphenol female connector. You would need to wire up pairs 22 & 23, using a 25 pair Male amphenol tail to an RJ45 jack, pins 1+2 and 4+5 for a T1/PRI connection.

Also, If you are intending to run a PRI on these TN767's, I hope you ar enot planning on using that on any type of AVAYA S-Series server (S8400/S85XX/S87XX), as the TN757 is NOT supported for a PRI in a G650 gateway with them, the TN767 only works in the older, CSI/SI/R cabinets as a PRI card. For newer switches, you would need TN464's (of some flavor, F's, HP's, GP's etc)

Thanks. It is a Definity G3, running v10 software, and it will connect to an Asterisk device. Our Avaya vendor is determining if we can do this on TN767's.

Tomorrow I will take pictures of adapters we currently have on 4 of the backplane Amphenols and post links to the pics here. They have a db-9 and rj-45 connector. If they are the right thing for the TN767e, then I will ask this thread what they are called and where I can get them.

thanks again,

Peter

If I had my guess you need to 120 CSU to go on the backplane for this new circuit. You will probably need a 464 circuit pack as well.

The little adapter thingy that you are looking at is for connecting CLAN, Val, and MEDPRO boards and are a cable extended adapter. PN. 848525887 for the issue 2. These come with the mentioned boards and are not for the 767 or the 464 circuit packs.

I have used a amphenol harmonica, 8 ports AT&T part number 356a on the back of the switch to break out a T-1. All you need to do is plug in your RJ45 to port 8 and it is all pinned out for you. I have one on the back of the switch now and it is working great. You do not need a CSU if you are going from one piece of equipment to another at the same location. I have done this many times with line side T-1s and right now I have it hooked up to an Adtran SIP device, giving me SIP trunking to one of our LD carriers.

Yes, the 848525887 is what I was looking at. No need to post the pic now.

I will go with the amphenol harmonica, 8 ports AT&T part number 356a! I just hope it doesn't break the bank.

Thanks to all of you. This is a great board, and you guys are great too!
