I know this is a silly question......

How do you change the time on a IP Office 500 with an embedded card and 4.2 firmware and 5621 handsets?

It used to be *9000 hold did it not?

Obviously no voicemail server hre and no Lan network in this case it's just a simple phon system install.

Create a button on one of the 5621's as follows:

1. Select the user who can adjust the system time and date.

· If necessary create a new user who can be used to log in and set the time and date before logging out.

2. On the User | Telephony tab, ensure that the option System Phone is selected.

3. On the User | Button Programming tab select and double-click on an available button.

4. Select Emulation > Self-Administer as the action.

5. In the Action Data field enter 2.

6. Enter an appropriate label for the button.

7. Adding another button set to the Emulation > Time of Day action is recommended as this will allow the user to view and confirm the systems current time.

8. Send the updated configuration to the IP Office.

Using the Programmable Button

1. Press the programmed button. If the user has a Login Code set it is requested.

2. The options Date and Time are displayed.

3. To set the date press Date.

1. The current system date is displayed.

2. Enter the new date, using two digits for day and month. Use the * or # keys to insert the / separators. The format for date enter matches the locale of the IP Office system.

3. During entry the key labeled <<< can be used to backspace.

4. When the full date has been entered as required, press Next.

5. Press Done.

6. The phone will return to idle.

4. To set the time press Time.

1. The current system time is displayed.

2. Enter the new time using 24-hour clock format. Use the * or # keys to insert the : separator.

3. When the full time has been entered as required, press Done.

4. The phone will return to idle.

Its nice to have this - although step 7 in the first part is pointless as time and date is always shown now and it shows you the current time when you go into change it anyway.

Also to add you can still set the time server to a PC running Manager and update the time that way.

Pepp it doesn't show time and date on 5621 handsets :)

Fair enough - never actually used a 56xx phone for longer than a few minutes - and it is shown on 54xx and 16xx.

Cheers.

· Phone Time and Date Display
For 4.2, the following phones now display the current time and date at the bottom right of their display when idle: 2410, 2420, 5410 and 5420.

that's from the Doc's but that doesnt mention 1600 series either but I don't think it does with 5621's

hmmm.....jst wanted to change the time not disarm a nuclear warehead[dazed]

However i like the second idea of setting the manager program up to run the time profile.

I'll log in and try that first as I like easy solutios. If that fails I'll try the second option of amriddles!

It looks long winded, in reality it takes about two minutes :) But using the manager app works fine too and I would have suggested that except you said
"Obviously no voicemail server hre and no Lan network in this case it's just a simple phon system install.".... which would indicate no PC available running manager....so there :)

The *900 is disabled from the moment that the time change was possible with the self administer button !

You can also download this tool, it does RFC868(port 37) as timeserver.
Run it on any pc, point the IPO to the ipaddress of the pc and your done. Make sure the pc will get it's time from a normal NTP timeserver.
