I decided to update my copy of Zone Alarm from a cover CD.
and I have Spybt's Tea Timer running.
TT picked up some registry changes Zone alarm was making and brought up a Deny/Allow dialog.
The problem was the dialog was not displaying correctly and I could not see enough of the buttons to tell which one was which. (only a Horizontal re-size was possible!!)
I haven't rebooted as yet, so there may be more problems with this,
Does anyone know which of these buttons is which. e.g. Left is ? Right is ?

I have the same problem, I can only see the top edge of the buttons - left is allow changes

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months

Cheers Biggles.
I suppose this should be reported to SpyBot!!

I was told (I don't know if this is true) that spybot has this problem with XP. Is this true?

I have XP Pro and it always looks like that, so it's atleast true for me!

Well I have XP Home. But this should be an easy fix!.

I had the same issue. I emailed the spybot team but got no response. Luckily I still had version 1.3 and reverted to that version as it doesn't have the issue (I run XP Pro).

To turn off Resident “Tea Timer”

Go to Advanced Mode>Tools>Resident.
Uncheck the box for Resident “Tea Timer”.

I'm with Bill on this issue; turn off Tea Timer, it can be a resource hog.

I'm not sure it's that much of a resource hog. It runs at low priority as well. Personally I find it quite re-assuring that I will be notified of registry changes. It can be a pain if you forget to turn it off when installing or uninstalling something though LOL.

I am happy to post version 1.3 somewhere if anyone can suggest where and confirm that it is not against the EULA to do so. (I have had a look and I can't see 1.3 available anymore).

As I already suggested, v1.3 doesn't have the problem and works just fine with XP.

OK - spybot v1.3 is available to download here from Rapidshare

I don't know how many downloads are permitted though, or how long the link will remain viable.

Uninstall spybot before installing v1.3

If you know which button is which it not that much of a problem!
also I am sure that Version 3 had some 'issues' (false positives) thats why I upgraded to V4.

Go to the Spybot web site, their forum, as I recall. The first entry a few days ago was the work around for this problem. It contains a download and complete instructions. (Yes, XP Home has the problem, too.)

It was the detection database that had the problem - not the updates! But workaround or V1.3 - either!

Suggest you check the spybot web site. Forum, then Spybot -search and destroy ; Then "Solution to fix the pop-up in teatimer". There is also a link to a lengthy explanation for the bug. It appears to be in the 1.4 update. And although they use the term work-around, it would seem to be a fix.
