Hello all,

Just setup a TDA50 and TVA50 at customers location, everything seems to be working great with AA setup for no answer on CO and everything is routing to the correct location. This isn't a complicated setup but I am having an issue with VM itself.

I really think my problem is related to port 2 on the TVA not being seen by the TDA, port is open on the TVA and has been configured on the TDA as the second port for the VM but just says fault. is there a wiring diagram I'm missing that says port 2 on the TVA should be terminated differently?

With that question I belive it is related to the VM issue I'm having, when the secretary transfers a call to an EXT and they do not answer the VM does not pickup, I have setup FWD/BSY/NA option on each phone and even setup the intercept routing to go to 500 as well, I'm ready to rip my hair out! please someone lend me some knowledge or at least send me in the right direction!

Thanks in advance!

did you put in a second card, if not then it uses one digital port for two ports and you need to tell the second extension port it is not vm

you mean change the port on the DLC i have port 2 of the TVA back to a regular ext? should it just pick it up automatically then? didn't see anything in the manual about this but i may have overlooked it I guess

No. The vm has 2 ports on one card. If connecting to a Panasonic digital system you only use 1 digital extension in the first port set as vm
If you have a second card on the vm with 2 more ports you use second digital extension on the system
You do tell the system it is a vm but only one port per interface card on vm. Second port on the vm card is if using slt interface on older system or non Panasonic systems

Ohhhh okay, so its really setup the way it should be then? guess I must have mist this in the manual because I thought the way it read was both ports are used for Digital ext, okay so no other card and it seems that is setup correctly, any thoughts about why the VM wouldn't be picking up for no answer?

You should only have one digital port connected if using only 2 ports

This will cause problems if you have set 2 extensions as vm

that right there makes sense, thanks for the info! i'll make the change and see whats up
