Doing early spring cleaning has begun with my computer. I'm doing a fresh install of Windows XP Pro. I do not want the clock displayed in the taskbar tray. However, no matter how many times I turn it off via the taskbar option, it reappears each time the computer is either rebooted or started after being turned off. It's a bit past bugging me so it appears that my only alternative is to ask for help. Help!!

Start, Run, regedit

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Value Name: HideClock

Value Data: (0 = Show Clock, 1 = Hide Clock)

Add two new values in the locations above and set to 1

Dear bcastner,
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am now de-bugged. You get another red star to add to your collection.
