Tables Accessing Network? 1

I have a database on my local hard disk with many tables some local, some linked via a database on our LAN. Now I'm positive that the unlinked tables have absolutely NO relationship to those that are linked. Regardless of this fact...my UNLINKED/NON-RELATED tables are still accessing the network when I try to open them. I wouldn't be so concerned but when I'm opening a table with only a couple of hundred records and it takes me 10 - 20 seconds just to open it, I have to question it.

To test this, I made a copy of my DB and then deleted all the linked tables. Then when I tried to access my local tables they instantly opened...

Anyone have any clues why?

It may be due to the "new" table property "Subdatasheet Name".

Apparently if the table you are trying to open has this property set to "[Auto]" (the default), Access searches all your other tables looking for related columns. Open one of your local tables in design mode, open the property sheet, and set the property to "[None]". Close the table, saving your change. Then try to open it.

Oops, the picture of the little car in the earlier post is supposed to be the word "Auto" in square brackets! Guess I should have previewed the post before submitting it.

Awesome Jim!

That did the trick [2thumbsup]

This has been baffling me for quite some time and now I know the solution
