I have a T-Mobile blackberry running the latest software. Now one thing that I do not have is the attachment service. I know it is included and I know the application is loaded on the blackberry, but when I receive an attachment, I can't go to the menu and say open attachment. Its not there... I have reloaded the software multiple times to see if it would show, but nothing. My call to T-Mobile proved my theory that they do not know anything about the blackberry. They said that it would show up if I used a BES server, but it doesn't. They also said if I used the new web client it would do the same... negative... tried that too... so if anybody could offer help. I thank you...

I'm confused, are you running a BES? If so the attachment service needs to be running on the BES.

Yeah, I have the BES 2.1 server running, which I know doesn't support the Attachment service. Therefore I had a friend install the 3.6 version and we have run the service from his server. It still does not allow attachments. I think its in the design of the software. If you have a 957 or an 857 and install the 2.6 software, you can go to an email with an attachment, then you can click the wheel and scroll down and it will have "Attachment" and it will give you the choice of header only or the full text. With the T-Mobile blackberry that is not present, although they show it is included (T-Mobile and Rim both show this as being installed and usable without third party software).

Thanks for the reply...

It DOES work with the T-Mobile devices but you need the right software installed on the Handhelds, desktop and Server.
Do you have 3.6 or 3.7 running on the Blackberry depending on the model and 3.6 for desktop manager?

BC-

I have 3.7 on the blackberry and 3.6 as the desktop manager. Now T-mobile has a .99 version on their website, which I downloaded and installed on the blackberry. Now when I go into the handheld applications, it list them as the .36 version (3.7.0.36) Now the download on T-Mobile's website said that the .99 version adds the attachment part. When I look at the applications loaded on the blackberry, it shows net_rim_bb_attachment 3.7.0.36

However, as I have said before, it does not give me the option to view the attachment when one is received.

Thanks for your help.
