System32 folder pops open on Startup 1

I have this P4 box with winxp and everytime it starts the system32 folder pops open.... I checked the startup folder and it's empty

Please advice.

this indicates there's a problem at system level.
This behavior can occur if a null, incomplete, or damaged entry exists in the registry
