Hii everyone
I have a s8300D in a G430. I put the system platform cd in the drive unit, but I never reach it. My ip of course: 192.11.13.5, but I can´t ping 192.11.13.6
Every comment will be appreciated.

There was another thread of this same thing, but it was closed.

Check you pc settings and disable / enable network card.
Check leds to see if there is some sort of life.

make sure you are in the services port and using crossover cable
set laptop to 192.11.13.5/255.255.255.252
Now try ping 192.11.13.6.

Power up system
Insert CD cm5.2 in DVD player

On Laptop use Run --Cmd --telnet 192.11.13.6

Follow prompts to install software.

The fact is that I can´t ping 192.11.13.6 and my pc settings are correct

I can ping the g430, but not in services port

the drive has its own power supply. Still the same. :(

Ah.....
Thats the problem
You need to set the Default Gateway address to 192.168.13.6 otherwise it does not connect.

my pc settings:
192.11.13.5/255.255.255.252
gateway: 192.11.13.6

or where do I have to set the address?

sorry the default gateway you have is correct.
My Typing error.....

your settings are correct.

try a pcmcia card and set it up separately from your lan ethernet card you might have an IP conflict somewhere...

How did u setup your g430 IP, thru the LAN1/2 jack? if not how did u configure it.

check your vlan id gateway IP might give you an idea.

clear your cache command: "arp -a " ----displays entries, IP

if there is an IP "arp -d 192.11.13.6" for example to clear it then try again, change your cross over cable as last resort

I made the gateway config. thru services port with GWI. Not LAN 1/2?
The processor is not answering, gateway is.

then I would try a spare S8300 card, might a proc issue
