System Greeting Keeps Playing

Hi guys,

kindly I need your advise please,
our system is 3300 Mxe, running old software (Rel.5), it serves mainly analog lines beside few digital and IP lines,

The main Company phone number is routed to an Auto Attendant (20 port embedded), which greets the calller and asks him to enter the desired ext.No.
if the desired Ext. number doesn't answer, or its VM takes the call, and receive the message>>>the hooked CO line to the involved VM port doesn't hang up, the call returns back to the caller and starts playing the Company greeting again and again,

the call completes and this chain ends only, if the called party answers the calls and then terminates it,
As a result of this issue most of the incoming lines and the corresponding VM ports keep all the time busy until I clear them manually,
It sounds like:
* routing issue,
* Signaling problem (Disconnect signal),

hope you can help,

WJ.

More than likely the call terminates to a nametag huntgroup before the AA answers.

Nametag huntgroups should NEVER be used before AA

Thank You kwbMitel,

where to check and corret?

WJ.

You need to trace the call into the system

What number is being dialed, how is it modified on entering the system, what digits are ultimately dialed into the system, what device matches those digits, how is said device routed on the system, etc...

thanks kwbMitel,

i will add some more info, maybe would help getting to

The main issue I face is the VM ports don't release from the CO lines even if the calling party ends the call !!,
this happen in two cases:
if the called party doesn't answer the call or the VM box receives the call and takes the message,
in this cases the VM port keeps busy (playing the main Greeting), until I manually clear it,

If the called party picks up the call, at the end of the conversation, the call terminates normally,
the same thing happens, with the RAD ports, they stay busy if the called party doesn't answer!!

I played with the Disconnect Signal in the CO Circuit Descriptor with no positive result,

Any Ideas,

Sorry, its been way too long since I've worked with analog lines and I no longer have access to systems / manuals to look things up.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

thanks a lot kwbMitel,

partially the problem is solved by removing and reprogramming the entire VM service,

then i h've set call duration limitation on the incoming calls, so now the trunks release and clear the calls after certain of time,

this is not the proper solution, but at least acceptable till i find out the main reason causes the continouse playing of the main greeting after each transfer,

thanks again,

WJ.
