Hi everyone,

I just did a system reset but the PABX has not rebooted. Is there anything else I can do before calling in the contractor? It is a IPS2000.
For the past 2 days I was unable to connect to the PABX and thought a system reset would do the trick, but it is all systems down now.

Thanks,

g!le.

Hi, it has been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened and so would like to update.
We did receive the 5pim card and I installed, did a clean load and re-entered all Data, extensions and LENs.
We have waited and waited.. for the tech for over a week and so I decided to have a go at it.All extension to extensions are working now but there are no indials or outgoing calls.

I have done the LCR following the techs notes which he left behind but there is something that does not match with the LCR cheat sheets. We do use LCR as you can see in the program listed, but there are no development patterns, CM4005 is not used. Instead toll restrictions are used, I could be wrong. Here is the config.

To make a local call there is dial tone after pressing 0 and the next digit but after the 3rd digit is entered dial tone is dropped and engaged tone comes up, restricted appears on the dterm. If someone can pick out the flaw or something amiss and help make it workable, I would be delighted. (The backup card has not being decided on yet-)

Thank you for all your help.

First question is, what trunk route are your ISDN trunks in?

Why are you not just reloading a back up of your old system?

I would seriously review the service you are getting from your tech!

I should add that I personally have never used Cmd 8A4005. In Australia we use 8A4000 and still get LCR to work so don't worry about not using 8A4005!

Email sent!

8A0000>1 : 000 00 referencing trunk route 00
8A0009 > 1 : 009 10 referencing trunk route 10
3000>101:30 PRI voice trunk is in route 30

It looks like your LCR routing is referencing trunk route 00. What if any trunks are in that route?
It also looks like your PRI voice trunks are in route 30 which is not referenced in your LCR tables.

I suggest you look at your trunks VS. trunk routes.
Also, try setting up another LCR table. In the US we use 8A4005. Look at the example located in Try to duplicate it without any trunk restrictions or tenanting. Get it working first, then worry about restrictions.

Missed the reference to the ISDN being in route 30 so Belvedere is right and your LCR isn't directing outgoing calls to route 30 in Cmd 8A000, 8A0001 and 8A0002 so it will never try and dial out, change the last two digits in each of those settings to 30 instead of 00 and let us know how you go!

I tried a C load but found out that some extensions were locking up. I think due to moving around core extensions when we used the 3PIM. Therefore I had to do a clean load.

I tried your suggestion Ozzie but still the same. Before the weekend we had the tech visit and he managed to get the LCR working. So we can call out now.

Our speed dials to mobile phones are not functioning yet.Previously we would dial #5 4pin code and the mobile number. Now upon dialing the # key there is a busy tone. How can I get it working again?

We are still stuck with the indials. Still could not get it to work. These are some of the notes from the tech . I have entered them but still no breakthrough. All Iam receiving is "all circuits are busy".

I have checked on the MDF and the trunk lines are ok, there is dial tone but how do I check for trunk vs trunk routes belevedere? I do have the MDF frame records here.

Thanks for your support Ozzie and belevedere. Really appreciate your help.

I don't see a setting for 3512 which is the number of digits to be received, 0 = 1 digit, 1 = 2 digits, 2 = 3 digits and 3 = 4 digits. Set it for the same as the number of digits in your extension numbers. I also don't see any setting for 3518 which will need to be set to 0 if you are using any digit conversion. As for mobile dialing, you would appear to be using authorization codes so what is #5 set to in Cmd 200.

Have you checked your emails recently?

I have found in the US that when an ISDN span is down for a length of time, the telco provider will shut it down at the CO. They don't like to look at alarms in the central office. Once you check out the last post from Ozzie, if you are still having incoming issues, call your carrier and ask them to check and/or reset their DID/ISDN link to your system.

These are the settings Ozzie.

3512>30:2 (So it is set to 3 digits. We have 3 digit extensions)

3518>30:1-0 (changed 1 to 0) Still no change.

200>B5:none

While digging around I found the numbering plan dated 2012 and B5 has feature code a086.
I will make changes and let you know of outcome.

Thanks alot,

g!le.

A086 is for Authorization Code. I do not think that will help. If you are not using auth codes then you do not need it. It is used for outgoing traffic.
Have you worked with your provider and requested a reset on their side?

You will need to use the code for your outgoing calls to mobiles but you will have to enter all the codes people use again, Just follow the instructions in the feature programming manual.

Have you contacted the carrier as suggested by Belvedere, even if they haven't got a problem in the network, they can monitor the lines and see what call failure codes they get which could give a clue what is happening.

Yes I have sent a request and am waiting for a response from them.
I think I have found a back up data from 2013 which could be of interest, at least to start with. It is in ofd. file format. I do not have a reader for this file extension. Any suggestion on a free file converter or reader that I can download ?

Thanks,

g!le

ofd is the format used by Matworx for a backup file and you can't read it, you can only reload it. Try running a search for all files with a .ofd extension and see if there is anything more recent. Also contact the tech who has been looking after the system and see what he has (I always keep copies of backups of my customer's systems).

Was away from the office for the past 2wks and things are still where I left.. The carrier called while I was away and left message that the links are still ON from their end. Thanks Ozzie. Have not done the reload yet,my IT colleague will help me with that one. He has been busy with a project so I am waiting for a proper time to do that. will update.

For temporal use I have connected one of the trunk lines that our clients can ring which can be answered by the receptionist(outgoing is ok). I have connected the line from the MDF and this is what I have. I am able to ring out from this line but for incoming calls there is no ringing tone at the receiving handset although the caller can hear ringing from his/her end. I remember the tech using a command to select a trunk line and testing it (incoming/outgoing) but a month is too long and I cannot remember exactly. How can this trunk line be answered at the reception station with the ringing tone working of course?

Our speed dial is still down.Still trying everything and anything.

Many Thanks.

g!le.

Don't forget to take a backup of where you are at now, just in case there is a problem with the 2013 file. You don't want to end up in a worse position than you are now!
