SX-2K PMS Issues

I sure hope someone can help us here. We have a 2K that consistently has PMS issues. At least 3 or 4 times a week the Maid and Check In/Out status quite updating. When I do a PMS TR EN from the 2K, the logs show a steady

PMS In - Enq
PMS Out - Ack
PMS In - Areyuthere
PMS Out - Ack

A reset of the PMS system doesn't seem to help but if I perform the maintenance command HTL INIT PMSMGR from the 2K, room updates will immediately begin passing between the systems.

Am I correct in saying the physical connection between the two isn't going down since they are Acking and Nacking even though no room updates are being sent?

Any good ideas on what to try next? The 2K is a non-redundant (I know but the sales guy wouldn't listen way back then) running LW27 and the PMS vendor is First Resort.

what connection are you using to the PMS? Dataset? Console port?

Sorry about that - The connection is with a Dataset 2103. The Dataset has been replaced and we also have tried an 1103 to no avail.

Lightware 27 is only a bit behind Lightware 34 which is the last/final release for the 2K.
Any Hotel logs?
Have you tested with PMS emulator?
Are you using Hyatt/Encore PMS?
Have you checked Known Product Issues with L27 and Hotel/Motel?

Does the PMS system perform a daily collect or database swap? Going from memory here but isn't there a setting in the dataset configuration for a keep alive signal?
