On power up after showing H, C, - for a few minutes each on the MCCIII-ML Statum-4, the top LED reads E. and the bottom reads 8. The bay controller is in the alarm state. The SX-200 program card is Rel 3.0.
is this a new system you are programing or an existing one you have that has started doing this?
There are various reasons for E.8
Some reasons for E.8:
If a purchased option is not enabled, when an enabled option is not purchased, or when the system id does not match or no SysID module. Check your MOSS for what is supposed to be programed and also in your switch what form 4 option 101 says. You should still be able to program your system ie form 4 with a E.8
Give some history as to the occurance to this E.8 may help to steer you in the right directions
This is a used Mitel I bought off the internet for our lab to test against our call recording application. Just powered it up today for the first time and am in the process of wiring up some Superset 4025s. All I really need is for a few digital extensions to come up.
I have 6 other PBXs I have bought in this manor and have always managed to get them working, but have never worked with Mitel. I received a parts list from another tech before I bought, but am embarrassed to say a SysID module was not on that list and I don't know if I have one. There is no MOSS sheet with the system, but I don't about options as long as I can make station to station calls on the 4025s.
can you get into programing for CDE? If you can go to form 4 option 101 and make note of what number is there that number is you sysid module and if there is not one the number indicated will give the clue. Post the sysid number
may be in trouble now, no MOSS. Is there anyway to get the MOSS sheet as that has to be programed into form 4 along with password to enable the system?
Do you have a Mitel TAM (Technical Acccount Manager) for your area, possibly that person can help you. If as a company I purchased the switch I can see the MOSS but you have no idea who purchased the switch therefore the TAM may be able to help you. Otherwise I do not know.
The Mitel TAM is the only one who can help you if you do not have a moss sheet.
The way it was explained to me by my TAM is the Mitel retains owneeship of the SystemID. They license the system to the customer they sold it to. As a second hand buyer, you may need to have the system licensed to you before you can get the assiciated MOSS sheet.
Mitel is telling me I have to get a new controller card and the latest software release to get the license changed to me. They want an incredibly high price. Looks like I am hosed.
I think one in sales and one TAM in Arkansas. One person at Mitel told me to license it through a dealer and gave me a list of dealers. Called the dealer and they conferenced me back in with someone else at Mitel that looked into it for me and told me after a couple days that I had to upgrade to get the MOSS sheet and get it relicensed.
If you know someone at Mitel that can help me, that would be great.
