The Lastest update of Java (rel 8) seems to have killed my connection to the SX200

Anyone else have the issue or a workaround?

I've tried all of the standard suspects.

I Googled and downloaded Java 6 to my remote access devices. Haven't had a problem since (knock on wood).

I need this to work for the customer not myself. Putty and downgrading java are not realistic options in this case

I use a VM of XP or windows server 2003 at all the sites where I have this issue. Release 8 of Java seems to be completely retrograde as regards access to older software.

For the record

My customer rolled back his java to rel 7 and it is working again.

I am still using rel 8 and so far no issues with 3300's or application servers.

I have stuck with Java 7 update 71, anything higher seems to have issues as you have outline

I use "Windows XP mode" on my windows 7 laptop. I keep my java at 6 and my internet explorer at 8 and have no issues.

@BrianWarner - As I mentioned earlier, this is for customer access.

My laptop is fine.
