Swapped out SSC card and need to rebuilt from scratch

So, I've swapped my SSC card Rel 23.55 for another with SC1000 Rel 4.5

That's the only change I've made in the cabinet - I've trying to rebuild my sets, however, I keep getting ERR5112. Then it enables the card and gives me ERR5115, but the card is not enabled.

As a matter of fact, none of the card seem to be working, so it's there something that I should do?

This replacement SSC card was obviously configured differently when it was pulled from working service - I don't want to do a re-install of the software - I just want to re-config as I go along.

Suggestions?

Shawn

But of an update -

copied files to another CF drive - card reads that drive - i just have no idea how to install the software

I hit CTRL + I at teh appropriate time and it seems to loop

should CTRL + I bring me up a menu?

So Shawn, why did you swap that card out? Is this just something that you thought you could do without any help? Was the 4.5 a working system? Did you have a printout from that system? Was there a problem with the 23.55? Is there a MerMail voice mail system hooked up to this system?
Your best bet right now is to plug that old 23.55 SSC card back in and bring that system back up, before the gang gets there. Secondly, you need to have some experienced help come in and help you get that thing upgraded. You just can't swap without a plan. If you archive the old database to a PCMCIA card, verify that the database will restore to 4.5, and wipe the new daughter board and install a new 4.5 with the existing keycodes, you might have a clean upgrade. You could sit there for three days rebuilding what you have, but why!?
BTW: MerMail is not compatible with 4.5... Only Call Pilot.

I think I'm going to have to start from scratch now that I've read your last email that you had sent to me today!.

First of all, the "software" card is only needed in certain situations such as a PCMCIA backup or upgrade. It isn't needed at all for normal day to day use.

What matters is the software that was installed on the daughter board and the ID of the dongle that is inserted onto the SSC card. The two have to be paired in order for the system to work correctly. This means that after it has powered up, the LD 43 EDD command has to work!.

You cannot use under any circumstances a 512 Meg card. The recommended PCMCIA size for the SSC card is 64 Meg, although I've known 128 Meg will also work.

You must obtain a CF card as stated above and use the PCMCIA card programmer to format and extract the files onto it. If you then power up the system and SSC card. you should see the boot up sequence.

Have you tried doing Ctrl i without the PCMCIA card plugged in to be sure that the keys on your pc are working?.

If you have already don a Ctrl b and followed the production test, then the software on the daughterboard will have been wiped clean!.

Otherwise, ship the daughterboard and dongle to me in the UK and I'll repair it for you.

Regards

David

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

LOL... I have seen so many people try to use a PCMCIA card larger than 64k and they will NOT listen. I probably still have 5 laying around somewhere. I still have the software extraction tool for the old Option 11 software cartridge also. You just never know when it will be needed.
