Suppressing second automated voicemail greeting in Avaya Aura Messaging

Hi

When a caller is routed to my users' voicemail in Avaya Aura Messaging, their personal greeting is played, asking the caller to leave a message. This is immediately followed by an automated greeting asking the caller to leave a message again, ("Record your message after the tone. When you finish, you can hang up, or press 1 for more options"), followed by the beep.

Is there a way to suppress the second automated recording if a user's personal greeting is in place, as it is redundant.

I checked, and there seems to be no setting in mailbox preferences, or class of service to suppress this second greeting.

Thanks!

Joe

Hi Joe,

actually this message is part of the system itself. We'd the same issue and it need to be removed from the Database itself which means it will also not played at all. Think you need to engage Avaya for this.

Hi Markus

Thanks for your response.

Just one more quick question, if the database revision would suppress the generic system greeting enterprise-wide, does this mean it would also be suppressed for users who choose to turn off the custom greeting and use only the generic greeting? I.e. would they hear no greeting at all?

How did it work out for you when you made this modification?

Thanks again, joe

Hi Joe,

yes that's right. However, if there is e.g. nothing changed on the personal greetings etc., the system will play the default message (Please leave a voice message for 'ASCII Name').
