Hello, I'm hope someone out there can help me with the following problem. I have 13 different worksheets. 12 are titled "Jan" - "Dec" and 1 worksheet is titles "totals". Each worksheet has list of 600 employee names under column A, Columns B-H each contain one different performance metric and have the employees point total for the month. I am looking for a way to have the "totals" worksheet add up all the points each employee has earned for the entire year in each performance category (columns b-h).

I am trying to use a vlookup function because each month has the employees name in a different order.

Does anyone know how to use a sum function with vlookup accross multiple worksheets?

Thank you all for any assistance you can provide.

I also forgot to mention, not all employees names are on all monthly lists.

Thank you again!

Hi,

" I have 13 different worksheets. 12 are titled Jan - Dec"

You sure have shot yourself in the foot, my friend! Don't feel bad, though. It's a typical novice spreadsheet user mistake.

Buy chopping your data up into disparate locations (workbooks), you have defeated Excel's features, or at least made your job more difficult by at least an order of magnitude.

My reccomendation, what I would do if I were handed his mess, is consolidate the data into ONE SHEET, adding a column for DATE, a REAL DATE, not Jan, Feb, etc. From there your aggregation problem would be no problem at all.

BTW, I would not stop at ONE year's worth of data. Put ALL your data in one sheet and accumulate over the years.

Skip,
