Mitel 3300 MXe III, 13.0.XXX installed. Working perfectly with all systems in our clusters, HOWEVER... (here it comes) I noticed that I either fat fingered or just forgot to go with fffffc00 (255.255.252.00) for my subnet... instead I just went with ffffff00(255.255.255.00) when I set this up.

Most of our systems are MXe and a few are MXe III and most have version 13.XXX installed a couple remaining with 12.0.XX. The only problem I am seeing is SDS errors when I make changes in our system ie. extension assignments not updating immediately in the directory. No big deal, I just check the errors out and delete, they manage to work and display properly regardless.

I know that there is a CHANGE option in System IP Properties under LAN/WAN Config. If I change the suspect octet to a 2, will it require a reboot? I am afraid to try unless I come in at 0200 or so when business slows down. I am hoping it would be as simple as the change in a DNS where you don't have to bring down the system to apply the change.

I know there are some that say I might have to reinstall and insert the proper octet, I don't think so. If so, I will be doing that when I move this system to our new data center in a few weeks.

Changing via the System IP properties will require a reboot but it can be scheduled

The Octet would change to 252 (Not 2 if I'm understanding you correctly) or more clearly the Subnet mask would be 255.255.252.0

Who would say reinstall? No one in their right mind, that's who.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

You should easily be able to change the system values as mentioned above. If you are doing dhcp, you may have to delete and recreate your settings there.

Correct, 252. I'll just take care of it when I move it down to the new data center in a couple weeks, no big deal just a small pain knowing that I entered the wrong number in the subnet when I set it up.

I figured as much about the reinstall. I thought that was silly too.

Thanks!!!

jpruder... Believe it or not, the DHCP subnet is as it should be, subnet with the 252 octet. I am amazed that everything is running properly, given this was machine #4 that I setup that early morning.

Thanks

I've done this exact same thing myself. Easy fix, do just as KWB suggested, change it in System IP Configuration, schedule a reboot, and you should be done. Wouldn't hurt to back the system up first, just in case.
