hi, i was wondering if anyone new of a way to "hide" the subform edges and such while arranging the subform controls so they flow well with the main form.
what i mean is if you look at the main form in design view, the subform is shown just as a window embedded in it with its own rulers and bars and such. is it possible to hide those?

Hi
You can switch off record selectors and scroll bars etc for the subform, and change the border style of the subform control to say, flat.

but after doing that i still see the bar that says detail and 2 scroll bars around my subform.... can i get rid of those in any way, just for a little while?

in form view i can't rearrange controls. maybe i want something that i just can't do.

Maybe you switched off the wrong scroll bars? Is that possible? Try opening the subform in design view and checking if the scroll bars are set to Neither. [ponder]

they are, that just influences how they look in form view, thanks, though

So sorry. That reading problem again [dazed]. Is it viable to remove the subform from the control while you do your design and then put it back in at the end?

i am trying to see what it would look like as a finished product without having to switch to form view where i can't edit, then guess about locations when i am back in design view moving things. its not a big deal, just would make me feel a little better and make some layouts a little easier.

Sorry, spizotfl, Remou and I will be attending Remedial Reading 101 this week-end! I don't know the answer, but I apologize for not reading more carefully.

hey, no problem. i have that problem from time to time, too.

You can hide the ruler in design view, but not sure about the scroll bars. To hide the ruler just right click in the detail section of the form and deselect ruler. But you are right, would be kinda nice to move the subform controls etc in design view to match the main form without having to switch to form view back and forth just to get the layout like you want. But I think that is the only way to go about it.
