Hi,

I'm new to the PBX scene but it's now my job and while I've been taught a decent bit (in my eyes at least) I've still got a lot to learn. I've searched the forums and haven't found anything that I feel relates to my particular situation. Here's my current issue that I'm unsure about.

An L500 is automatically forwarding to a physical phone but when I look at the TN's setup I don't see anything that seems obvious as to why it's doing so. It's extension is 8507 and it is forwarding to the extension 7507. If any more information is needed, please let me know. Thanks for the help in advance.

Here's the config:

Printing 8777 gives me the following output which was expected but trying to search the Call Pilot system for the 8507 extension doesn't produce any results.

Also, I don't know if it makes a difference but when dialing the 8507 extension it does a half of a ring then starts forwarding. In between dialing the 8507 extension and it showing the 7507 extension on the display it forwards to, it briefly shows 8777 on the display.

Also check your IDC tables to see if there is any entry in there for this extension, it may be bypassing the phantom all together. You can check your IDC tables in LD 49, if you have any set up.

@trvlr1: Here's my output for printing the IDC tables on LD 49. It does show 8507 twice under the CDGT column.

@bear45: Results are as follows. I printed the 7507 DN then it's TN MARP.

What happens when you dial the incoming digits from the idc table, 2046,2233 etc. ?

So if you call mail there is no mailbox for 8507? Out the phantom then. See who complains. You can always put it back.

Check the SDN table in CallPilot and see if 8507 points to an application.

If there is no SDN 8507, check mailbox 8507 if associated to 7507.

Is 7507 your operator position or an appearance on your operator phone?

@RickyPone Not sure if there is a mailbox for it. The issue is that when dialing 8507 it automatically redirects to 7507. In my organization the primary extension is generally 8*** with a secondary extension of 7*** which will have the same last three digits as the primary extension.

@telebub & @mlgmartin I checked CallPilot's SDN and the 8507 extension does show a listing in there. When I click on it there is an option set next to "Application Name". Any particular settings I should be looking for in here that might cause this auto forwarding?

@trvlr1 To the best of my knowledge it's probably just an appearance. The "operator extension" is just 0.

Dial your dn for express messaging and then enter 8507. It will tell you if there is a mailbox. But that really doesn't matter. What is 8507 used for? If the answer is nothing or I don't know then just take it out.

Your phantom phone 8507 forwards to 8777 which I assume is voice mail. I will bet the application you saw earlier sends it to this extension.(7507)
If you look in Call Pilot, under System/Service Directory Number do you see any entries there for 8507 that will associate it with an application? Once you have that name, you should be able to open Application Builder and open that entry and see how it is laid out.

@trvlr1 When looking at the Service Directory Number section there is an entry for 8507. The listing for it is shown below. I've been trying to find a place to download Application Builder to check this but don't see anywhere online to do so and I'm not sure which of the many Nortel discs it would be on.

Service DN: 8507
App Name: OFFICE
Media Type: Voice
Min Channels: 0
Max Channels: Default Max.

I would look in CallPilot. If you don't have a copy of App Builder, see if your vendor should be able to get you a copy.

I see you have Call Transfer denied (XFD) in CLS.
I've had problems with MFP transfering to a common op/attndt #.
XFD ( denied ) in CLS sends the call to the op/attndt,changing it to XFR (restricted) causes it to not forward..

First off, thanks to everyone for all of the help. I learned quite a bit while trying to troubleshoot this issue. Only after physically going to the phone's location (at a different facility) did I find out what was really going on. Nobody at the facility (probably seven people total) knew what the extension of the phone was so it was assumed that it was 8507. But after being shown the phone I was informed that it had been covered in water due to a recent rain storm and it's location within the building. So I swapped out the phone with a new one, called out from it, and found out that it was a completely different extension than what they were assuming.

The lesson learned: that it's still hard to trust what the end user's saying when they're not really sure what they're talking about in the first place.
