Hi all,

Please give me suggestion to do upgrade proccess from IP Office V2 version 6.018 to 9.1.
what license needs to add to run on version 9.1

Thanks for advice.

That is a loaded question. It depends upon your equipment/modules (some are no longer supported), phones (some might not be supported), and what software and licenses you currently utilize. The best route is to contact someone who knows IPO (a business partner) and they can come out assess what you have and what you'll need to do to upgrade what you have.

Generally speaking, I would say apply an R9.1 upgrade license, upgrade to R7.0.36, then to R8.0.66 (this should generate a Virtual Essential Edition License), then to either R8.1.95 or any R9.0 build and from there you can go to R9.1

As other's have said, there are some cards and features no longer supported in 9.1, so would be best speaking to your business partner/distributor first before upgrading.

HI All,

Thanks for the review.

Our system has license like this on control unit. see picture for detail.

according to the my business partner, they just say to buy upgrade license.
because i must do upgrade myself so i need all of your suggestion to be work well. Thanks

Why do you have to do it yourself?
If your BP doesn't wanna work I'm sure there are others who have no problem doing it for you.

You should only need an upgrade license, but you'll need to do the upgrade in the right steps or you won't get the essential edition license and you end up with a non-working system.

Hi Janny78,

It's my jobs as a reseller. but when i ask to my vendor they say, they never upgrade to long step major release from 6 to 9.

Ok, I thought you were an end user.

But as long as you have an upgrade license and follow the upgrade steps Pearce1991 wrote you should be fine.
From what I understand your ATM and Combos should work in 9.1, but don't take my word for it since I never used any of those card/modules.

Hi All,

How if i do step like that. (after read some opinion on some forum).

I recreate SDcard using version 9.1x then put sdcard on IPO version 6.0(18).
will IPO be upgrade to version 9.1x according to sdcard OS version when IPO power on ?

You must go through 8.0 or you won't get the virtual Essential license.

Jhon88, you shouldn't be doing this at all, the questions being asked here and to your "vendor" reveal you don't know enough to do it really nor how to rescue it if/when it goes wrong :)

The tech bulletins have the upgrade paths in it so I would also suggest to just look at them.
You are a reseller you say but you can't sell the system as anything but an R6.0 anyways because that is what it is even with upgrades done to it.
I usually look into the GA release tech bulletins so see what the path is but have to agree with amriddle01 if anything goes sideways for you: Good luck fixing it

A later 8.0 or 9.0 is needed as a step in between not only to get the virtual essential edition license but also to increase the bootloader size. Have a look into R9.1 IP500 installation guide about the hardware's PCS level.

Deall All,

Thanks for your attention and solution.
finally i get the answer and will share the reference here:
