Hi all,

i have a problem with a 1616 ip phone. The phone is on the other end of a vpn tunnel. At the remote site i have a 5610 working fine. I have given the 5610 a static address and i have it working with dhcp with only the file server and callserver with static values.

I cant get it to work with a 1616 model. It keeps giving finding router and ends up with bad router, even though i give it the same settings as teh 5610 (not at the same time).

Any idea's?

Greetz

We've had many 1616 phones function just fine in this scenario. Did you try statically assigning all fields as a test?
Mike

Yes, tried that already. made no difference...

See if dhcp relay is turned on.
If yes then make another scope in the ipoffice for that range.
If needed then turn on "avaya ip phones only"

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Peter,

this is at a remote location, im not using dhcp relay and no vlans. Setting everything static doesnt work on the 1616 but it works on the 5610.

What happens when you do not enter an ip address for the router???

Then it says also bad router... Very strangs same settings on 5610 works?...

I have seen it but indeed only when manually configured.
I have no idea why this happens.

Is the 5610 on the same physical port on switch? Is it possible that your switch has something missing in the config?
Mike

its on the same switch as 5610, tried the same port but that did not make any difference... if i set the 5610 on dhcp and only fillin the callserver and file server it also works, but not on the 1616...

Did you try to set the ip address of the call server in to the router field?

Does it has the right firmware, if it's a new phone this could be the problem.
