Does anyone know a workaround to start a conference without an internal extension joining on IPO 10.1?

I've tried the standard tricks I've used in 9.1 and 10.0, but none of them appear to work anymore.

I've tried with moderated and unmoderated bridges by adding digits to the bridge ID.
I've tried using the RequestConfDetailsFromExternal with the Transfer Moderator option.
I've tried modifying the Transfer Moderator option with the $CP0 value in the "Source of transfer" field like in this post:
I've tried using the twinning number to recognize me as the moderator.
I've tried manipulating the $CLI variable to match an active internal extension.

Thanks

Do you have "Drop External Only Impromptu Conference" enabled under System -> Telephony?

Drop External Only Impromptu Conference is unchecked.

You could also change the short code that the Conference meet me uses.
If the "Conference Meet Me" short code matches the extension, you get a moderated bridge, and need the premise user, or proper call flow for someone to "fool" IPO and open the bridge.
So if the extensions are in the range, your short code would be similar to:
*81XX
conf meet me
1N

That creates a bridge with the extension numbers that anyone internally can dial *8101, to get a moderated bridge for Extension 101. And, since it matched the extension number, the caller would hear MOH until a moderator or bridge owner joined.

Alternatively:
*81XX
conf meet me
81XX

Now when someone dials *8101, the bridge it creates is bridge 8101, and since there would be no matching extension number, the bridge would open upon the first participant, local or remote.

If the meet me conference ID matches an extension number then the conference audio doesn't start until that user joins the conference. Design intent. You need to use a confirmation ID in a different range.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

use a conference ID that doesn't match an extension then it will work like Sizbut said.
This means your security is simply the password setup for the conference participants to enter and that also means you should change it intermittently otherwise people may just use them without telling you.
We have 2 separate ways to get into the bridges and I actually use my callback number in my user as access code for the participants to get into my bridge which I change after every call. I am on the other hand fairly paranoid which some of our sales guys are not and their password is still the same since day 1 :)

Sorry if I wasn't clear that I understand the difference between a bridge with a matching extension and one without, but I do. What I am saying is that it doesn't appear to make a difference in 10.1 anymore. No matter what I do, I cannot get a bridge to start without an internal extension in the bridge. Are you guys saying this still works for you on 10.1? I've tested it on a newly deployed 10.1.3 server, as well as on a server with a pre-existing bridge setup on 9.1 that was upgraded to 10.1.3. With the upgraded server, they could start a bridge without an internal caller prior to the upgrade and cannot after the upgrade.

I have run every version of R 10.1
I haven't found anyway to do what you want done on R10.1
This was possible on R9.1 and R10
I have not tried R11

I got the answer I was looking for. The bridge won't start until there are two external callers. I was only testing it with one external phone at a time.
