SSA "windows is searching for javaw.exe 6

Hi All,

Of late i keep on getting this recurring on different clients machines.
For the last 2 years we have had no issues, but it seems that the client machines does some sort of windows upgrade.

Thereafter, we get the error "windows is searching for javaw.exe.

if you manually browse and point to the javaw.exe file, all exe files want to open with java.

anyone else experienced this and is there a remedy?

Yes experienced. Usually windows 8. Java updates. Reinstalled manager?

The System Status link assumes that the javaw.exe is located under c:\windows\syswow64 think it was in Java 8 they stopped placing it there.

Java 8 is a disaster. Removing it and re-installing the latest version of 7 fixes the issue. I think you may be able to have both versions installed which helps.

This is what I do;

Assuming you installed in the default directory, Right Click on the System Status icon and paste this in the Target field.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\System Status\ssaviewer.jar"

Boom it works, no need to mess with what version of Java or have multiple versions of Java installed.
