I have an SRG 50 w/ v.9.0.1 w/ a dozen 2002 & 2004 sets attached. In normal mode the phone point to my CS1000E over a fiber WAN. WAN is functioning normal. In element mgr., I can redirect the sets & about 2-3 mins later, they revert back to local mode. I have 14 other sites w/ similar configurations all working normally. Any thoughts on what to check?

As with all problems, check the alarms section first. If that looks OK, then check with the network guys in case they have made any recent changes to their network. For example, has a data switch recently been changed out.

Something is disabling the phones across the link. Has anything been altered at the main end?.

Nothing has been changed, no alarms.

Updating the patching on a SRG problem can make things even worse as the main problem is the IP firmware being out of sync with the CS1K system.

It might be worthwhile checking the firmware at both ends in case any changes were done recently at the CS1K end.

Patches on both ends are up to date as of 4 months ago.

I did some more poking around in Element mgr, under Active Sets, the status says Local Mode - Unknown Main Office Status(RedirectRemote) - Type(BU)I've never seen this error before. Any thoughts?

Check in the BCM IP registration area what firmware is being used. On the CS1K, you will need to check within Element Manager that the same release is being used.

Also check some of the other sites and list here what firmware level they have.

Firmware levels all match. I'm kinda stumped.

Your best to post this in the Meridian CS1000 forum since the SRG mode is for those systems, you may get a little more input that way.

I work on those systems from time to time myself and I'm puzzled. Is your BCM50 at release 5.0?.

What release is the CS1K system?.

Usually, the CS1K TN's have different zones for each SRG site. Is this the case with your CS1K?.

Can you post a typical TN from the CS1K that the BCM normally registers with?.

OK, finally figured it out. It had been 6 months since I upgraded my systems & servers. In my DHCP scope for this site, the 003 router entry should have been x.x.5.1 but it was x.x.1.1 These phones have been up & running over 6 months w/o a reboot. The lease expiration is 180 days. A couple weeks ago we had hurricane Harvey & power must have been interrupted. Upon power restoration, they went to the new DHCP server w/ a slightly incorrect configuration. So, the phones were trying to look for S1 via the x.x.1.1 route & when unsuccessful, they reverted to local mode.

Ha-ha!. It's very easy to blame the phone systems. Just shows how long they keep going without any issues and even then it's something else that caused all the problems.

It's good that all is OK now and thanks for posting the answer here.
