We have had an influx of people reporting that their speakerphone has stoped working on 6408d+ set. The phone sets have been in place for about 5 years and I got about 10 reports last month of phones needing to be replaced because their speaker stopped working. Is it common for the speakers to go out after a certain period of time? or could we potential have some kind of power issue that is causing the speakers to go out? Thank you.

I should add, the speaker works and you can hear the other person but they cannot hear you. So it actually may be a microphone issue. (The mute button is not on) thank you.

On the station form (page 1), is the Speakerphone fied set to '2-way'?

Yes and works fine until one day it just dies. But since I've had so many reports in the past two months I'm just wondering if something could be triggering the mic to "blow out" or is it normal for the mic to wear out after about 5-7 years.

can you capture a status station when this fault occurs ??

Are you using headsets with these phone-I've heard using an incompatible headset connector can cause problems.
Also, when it happens to a set you could try to change the "mute button enabled" feature to no on the set to see if it makes any difference.
