Hi, I recently setup the MICS 6.1 with Callpilot 150. We are using VOIP on-site SIP trunks through a CISCO SPA8000 and have configured the SIP trunk for the gateway (we use nextiva).

I have L1-L3 set for T1. Wondering how this voice gateway connects to the actual unit.

For the MICS 6.1, it has a T1 card but no LS/DS card. Is connecting from the "Aux" port to the T1 card viable or do i need to run 3 lines from the SPA8000 FXS ports to the 66block?

I am a very big newbie and will probably need more details than necessary.
So far, the MICS 6.1 was preprogrammed, have not reprogrammed it yet though I think I may not need to (?).
The 66blocks are cross connected to about 16 lines.
Callpilot 150 is setup for the most part.

I get a dial tone and can call other phones, but from here I am very lost.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Using the SPA8000, do I need to connect a physical FXS line from the gateway to the 25pin amps?

I currently have an AUX cable going to the T1 line. Just havn't used the SPA8000 ever and can't find the info on it.

Thanks for the reply!

About to go ahead with the install and reprogramming.

Is it recommended to reset memory and start from scratch?

Also, when wiring the lines from the gateway to the amp, using a cat3 cable is ok? Do I only punch in the blues and oranges into the CO sections of the amp?

Thanks!

See the FAQ's tab and scroll to bottom for wiring chart.

Suggest to leave system alone because you may have a PRI key code, doing a STARTUP will change the system ID and you will lose the key code.

This is the wire chart for the MICS version I have. According to this, I connect FXO port one to Line1, FXO port 2 to Line2, etc? This means out of the 4-8 wires on the cord itself, I only connect 1 wire?

I was actually thinking of hooking up phone jacks from the amp and then connecting them via RJ11 4pin cables, would that work as well?

Also, thanks for the quick responses!

Sorry, but more questions!

So from the Amp, we have CO, ., CO, ., then - - - - (thats about 8 pins) then repeats again. Using a 4pin RJ11 cable, I connect only one pair (blue, red or green, yellow?) to first CO then repeat for the next 2 CO's? then connect only 2 wires to a phone jack.

So I've wired in the FXO jacks, and install the trunk. I've configuered Pool A for lines 001-004, and my dial out number as 9. I have also found out that my temp SIP trunk numbers are actually not receiving calls yet. Need to call Nextiva to see why that is. I have set the Prime set to be 103.

What other programming options should I be looking at for a LS/DS analog system with 3 incoming/outgoing lines?

Is just setting the Prime set to 103 enough to set that phone set to be the operator line?

Just an update, got th sip working and can make outgoing and get incoming calls!

now to refine the programming..
