Some t1 channels don't work

Setting up Mcd 6sp2, dual T1/E1 card as channelized t1. DTSTAT shows no errors. Channels 1 and 2- when seized (no dial tone expected) and external number dialed, there is no ring back, nor does the far end ring. Stat shows these two channels seizing and then releasing, but gets stuck on releasing. You have to bu and rts to return them to service. Channels 3 and 4 dials out ok. Channels 5, 6 and 24 does the same as 1 and 2 but release cleanly when hung up. I'm not sure what's happening with the other unmentioned channels, except they show idle when stat performed. Incoming calls are ok, although I did not check which channels they were coming in on.

Any help would be appreciated.

But why would some channels work properly and some not. Not only not work, but act differently?

Did you try a reboot? Have seen strange behavior on E&M T1 on earlier version that didn't work until a reboot.

No reboot. Its pretty difficult to do that because its a production system. Will try to arrange.

when things are that bad its normally the case that one side is different to the other.
I think you were 'lucky' to have some channels working at all
