Anyone know what the latest software release I can install on a IPO 406v2 currently at 4.2(23)? Does it require an upgrade LIC?

One more quick question - so if I have manager software version 8.0 (Part of the V6 admin software) It says that I can upgrade to V6 when I go to file, advanced, upgrade.

Will it allow me to do this upgrade, or will the system crash when I attempt it?

Left off that it shows that I can upgrade to 6.0 (1803)

A 406v2 (must be PCS08 or higher, must have 64Mb memory) can go up to 6.1 max
BUT, 6.0 and 6.1 do require a license!
5.0 is the last free upgrade you can use on the 406.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you.

If your 406v2 is already on R4.2, it will have enough memory to go up to R6.1
R5.0(26) is the max you can go without a license, You will then get to run 16xx phones too!

R6, R6.1 will need an upgrade license, also endpoint licensing has changed for IP phones. You may need to purchase endpoint licences also depending on how many IP Phones, and VCMs you have.

Note: You will not be able to run 96xx phones on 406v2, even on R6 & R6.1!

Noted Andre - and thanks.

Checked the CF card, confirmed the memory.

By the way, Avaya has discontinued all software versions older then 8.x.

You cannot buy any of the older software from Avaya, unless you find a Avaya reseller whom already has that particular license.

Rodney, you can use the latest upgrade licence to run any previous licenced version, so 6 or 6.1 or 7 or 8 or 8.1 or 9 :)

With the exception of the upgrade license.
If you try to purchase a specific license as an example, for a ccc agent license you ont be able to and you will have to upgrade.

It's not just that, if they sell the licence for a product they would be required to offer support for it too :)

Indeed R8.1 and R9 are currently available, but it can be used for R6, 6.1, and 7 like Andy says.

I hear were You're coming from Rodney, Avaya is racking in $$$ with these upgrades, especially R9, it is much higher than previous upgrades.

R5 was a free gift, it was support to be a charge for it, but Avaya couldn't get it to work.
