I'm upgrading a CS1000 Rls 4 to Rls 7. I can't get to migrate the customer data. I did an archive of the old system and copied it to the USB installation device. However the system does not see the archive as valid. I would really like to upgrade the database because I don't want to reprogram the system from scratch. Can anyone help?

are you using the conversion tool provided with 7? if it's a 61c or 81c

or are you going from 1000e? SSC?

sorry yes i'm going from a cs1000e with an SSC

USB ?

What type of Call Processors are you using on the new 7.0 system? If you did an archive from LD 143 to a PCMCIA compact flash, then you would use that to install the database and on bootup it should say CONVERTING/or something to that effect.

if it's a CPPM then you just slot the Compact flash on the face plate when it asks for the database.

the card that replaces the cppm card is a cpdc card. It does not use a compact flash. there are 3 usb ports on it. they send the software on a 4 gig thumb drive.

it sounds like he is trying to do a co-located system.
