Hi guys,

as our reseller is a bit shitty (read, selling more and expensive then it should or even don't know how..), I would like to get a bit feedback from you.

Our problem in a nutshell is quite simple. Because of the coronavirus, we're evaluating home office. Right now we have digital phones (14XX) and some ip phones (16XX) connected to the IP Office.
So to allow home office, we would need to use some kind of CTI Software that raises the following questions:

[ul]
[li]What software does Avaya offer (only need telephony, local but better terminal server ready)[/li]
[li]Can we use third party software for it? Any recommendations?[/li]
[li]What licenses do we need for both scenarios?[/li]
[li]What could be the cheapest way to do it, as it's only a temporary solution?[/li]
[/ul]

I don't expect a solid, perfect answer. I would be happy to get any direction so I can look up the information myself and documentation.
And hit our reseller and my boss with it afterwards.

Thank you all in advance :)

Ik would just build VPN's to the office and take the 16xx home with you.

Download a softphone app to the mobile devices or PC of the users. Install a VPN client of some type. I'm going to assume you may already have this. Buy 3rd party IP Endpoints to register the softphones back to the IPO. There are many other ways to do this as well with Avaya Branded solutions.

No need to use third party software when Avaya have the solution. Use Avaya IX workplace with office worker licenses or teleworker depending what version of the IPO you are on.
1400 series phones cannot be used for home users only the IP 1600 series phones. If you have them installed already in the office no added licenses are need to get this to work from home.
You will need a VPN on home users site connected back to the office for this to work, as this will be a lot of admin and cost, i suggest sticking with the Avaya IX Workplace Applications.

As a stop gap you may even try Mobile Twinning & rout calls out to your users mobiles.
Not a nice as haveing full functionality & will tie up an outbound line for each re-routed calls but can be set up quickly without any network reconfigurations.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
