Hi,

I've a customer with strange problem when I try use Softphone through my external link and after login correct I call for any number and no have a audio in conversation (between without sound). But using the same external link I can use a Skype normally.

I've changed a codec in settings extension/user, and doesn't work.

Someone have a any ideia for this problem? something like this?

PS: When I use a softphone with the same configurations in LAN of my customer, work correctly.

Thanks,

The Avaya IP Softphone has a Troubleshooting tab on Help.
Check if there's any valuable info.

Uncheck Allow Direct Media Path on the extension.

Another thing to try is to install a sniffer a check the packets on the same PC as the softphone.

This does not work.
I have tried this too but the IPO tries to use the internal IP and you have an external IP.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

@RogerTurboFederer

This doenst work? OMG.
You know explain for me the what ? In help, I can see thing "Codec" But I try with G729/G721 and others =/

@tlpeter
But the IPO no get a IP from DHCP of my router? The Softphone through external link how to work? The no register? Why?

I already tried with a SIP Extensions too, and doens't work.
I don't know what more configure! =/

Using a wireshark, I see other ports negociation, for ex: My ports (RTP) configured in Ip Office is 40000-56000 but in Wireshark show me a negociation a other ports.

Not sure what the heck is going on with the softphone outside the company.

It suppose to work, right ?

It's not supposed to traverse NAT no, build a VPN (properly) back to the office and it'll work, put the system on an external address (carefully) and it MAY work but is dependant on the user side router/network not messing with too much :)

Well,

I resolve this, however, doesn't work with NAT/FIREWALL/NAT. The LAN was have a SW L2 with VLAN. I try again,but with other link that not have this SW L2. And now the softphone work correctly.
