Hello all,

I have System Platform version 6.3 and I would like to collect performance statistics. I know there is a Performance Statistics section on the servers itself but all I can do with taht is to view it locally or manually download it to a CSV file. I would like to use SNMP gets to collect this in PRTG but I can not figure out if the system supports this and if so how to configure and start the SNMP agent.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

What kind of performance statistics are you referring to?

If its on an HP or Dell server, there are some utilities like "hplog" you can run via CLI and maybe PRTG has some setups that can monitor it as a generic HP or Dell box?

I don't think you can get to the performance data through SNMP on System Platform. I think the best you could do would be to periodically gather the data directly from the RRD files stored on cdom under /vspdata/perf or maybe use some facility already built into collectd ( or rrdtools to get at the data. Keep in mind the high resolution data rolls over/consolidates after 24 hours.

SOLVED: System Platform ONLY supports SNMP V3 by default. Once I configured SNMP V3 everything works great. Thanks for the replies.
