I'm receiving this SMTP alarm continuos for this line. It's a ISDN.

Trunk 1 (BRI 1) is down
Trunk 1 (BRI 1) is now operational

I have the same error with other trunk (Trunk 6), in this case, it's a Gateway GSM ISDN.

I think this happens every time a call comes but, apparently the operation of the trunks is correct and no errors can be seen in the calls, no noise, all is normal.

I have more ISDN trunks without this error, 2 or 3 more in normal ISDN and GSM ISDN GATEWAY with the same companies and others.

I have pending look the monitor.

Any idea?

Regards!

mmm, sorry, it's a IPO 7.0.5......

BRI seems to do this all the time.
I have seen this is on all installations i have done with these alarms turned on.
Disable it for the trunks.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have a site I monitor with 8 BRI lines and have not had this alert once in a year, perhaps it's your dodgy dutch stuff Peter :)

Nopen, provider stuff i guess.
What happens is that one port looses sync and resyncs then the next port does this and then the next.
I once had 500 emails within 4 hours.

Well, I have varius sites, and for the moments only one with this problem, and I heve the same problem of Tlpeter 500 or 600 msg in 3 or 4 hour, depending of the traffic.

For us it is very interenting monitoring the trunk and this problem is a "big sh*t"......

AVAYA say problem operator, and operator say problem AVAYA. ;-(

Know that others have the same problem, consolation of foolsbut I feel better knowing I'm not the only one that happens :)

Thanks.

Sounds like the network side equipment/NTE drops layer 2 until a call is established which explains why it's up/down as far as the IPO is concerned, in the UK BT NTE's keep layer 2 up permenantly which explains why I don't see the error :)

Yes, but the provider ( company Phone ) I suposse have diferents equipament aroud the country, because the same customer company, in other state/province, haven't this problem.
