We are running G5s and G4s with OS 10.2 and 10.3. When we connect to our NT server using the SMB mount, our Freehand files (as well as other files) are showing up as unix executable files (which we can't do anything with). However, the SMB mount is extememly fast in searching and navigating directories.
We can connect to the server another way (which is extremely slow and doing a search or just trying to open large directories can take as long as 5 to 15 minutes) and access our files correctly. Any insight into what the differences might be between the two ways we can connect would be great. Time is an important issue and the new OSX is slowing productivity because we can't get to our files through the SMB Mount.
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks.
