Hi all,

Any insight here is most definitely appreciated.

I've integrated SFB/Lync 2013 and Mitel via direct SIP which works great. I can dial between SFB/Lync clients (that are configured for enterprise voice) and Mitel extensions no problem at all. My problem is I cannot dial out via my SIP trunks on the PBX from Lync clients. I have dialing rules in lync that 'normalize' my dialed number to prefix with my external access number (which in this case is '0').

In Lync client:

Dial 0401 234 567

Normalized number: 00401234567

I can dial the normalized number from a Mitel extension and get through just fine, but I cannot dial this from Lync. Am I missing something? I have called a Mitel contact of mine who tells me that I need a SIP gateway between PBX and SFB/Lync. Is there any truth to this?

Furthermore, I have created a speedcall in the mitel DID range (29XX - as I know the dialing rules for 29XX are correct) and set this to an external mobile number and still cannot get out.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Thanks!

so do you have this

SFB--siptrunk---MiVB--trunk to carrier ?

is trunk to carrier also sip

packet capture will probably hold the answers

- may be cor related on the sip trunk between the SFB and MIVB , is the COR on the Trunk attributes able to make outgoing calls?
- Also Im assuming you are referring to MIVB (MCD) - what software version ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

SFB--siptrunk---MiVB--trunk to carrier - This is correct. Trunk to carrier is also SIP.

MIVB Rel 7.1 PR1. COR on trunk allows for outgoing calls (same COR as trunk to Carrier - is this correct?)

I can get a packet capture between SFB-MIVB first thing in the morning.

Just an update..

If I put the speedcall number into the SIP peer profile assignment by incoming DID (Incoming DID range), I can dial the speedcall number and get out via the PSTN just fine. I'm assuming this means I don't need a device between SFB-MiVB.

are SFB clients sending an appropriate Calling Line ID , most sip trunk providers require accurate information .
packet capture would show that

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Ah I just got it. Disabling Media Bypass in trunk configuration (in SFB). All is working as expected now.
