New SIP provider wants to test with me and says there is no authentication needed. How the crap do I do that? Ive always had a username and password credential to add to the URI. do I just not enter anything in the Sip Credentials tab? I have tried different ways and calls are hitting just getting a redirect. hmmmmm

no credentials in the SIP trunk
routing is done via IP routes on LAN1 or LAN2 depending on your setup just as normal

incoming still have the * * * URI so that you can route with the incoming call route entries

outgoing use the ARS and you may or may not have to add the @123.123.123.123 to the shortodes in there

Investigate whether the carrier supports Sip peering, where they only accept authentication from your external ip address as an added layer of security.

Did you know?
If they name the hurricane after you, you have to pay for the damage.

Is you have a dedicated connection by DSL or cable then authentication is done on the IP address.
This is even more safe as there is no internet connection and the SBC is on the provider side.
Configure the uri's but just without the registration.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You guys are great. I wasn't getting email notifications of your responses so I forgot to reply. I am working with a messy Sip provider

Sometimes the notifications go to your junk folder, not because Tek-Tips emails are junk, not by any means. Just that they send so many they can get flagged.
If using Outlook, create a rule and send all responses to a Tek-Tips folder. You can make the rule play a wav sound when the message comes through.
For example, I use this for emails from my PM:

Did you know?
If they name the hurricane after you, you have to pay for the damage.
